I just bought the pre order, so I'll have the beta today! I know daman got it as he is in vent playing it right now. I'll let u know my thoughts on the game shortly. Though it will be coming from someone who never touched the BF series what so ever so I won't be able to compare it to older titles.

Ive had a few (many) connection issues.
So I decided to wait a day or two until a fix is issued.
In the meantime I had been playing the demo that also came out on the 360. Pretty fun, but has a few quirks that bug me. One being the slowness of the knife and "not always registering" kill when swinging the combat knife. Bitches need to die when Im stabbin them!
[EDIT] Today is muuuuuuuuuuch better as far as connection issues. Got into the game right away. Had a great deal of fun also. Right now I want to find out how to turn off (or lower) the bloom. It seems a bit much. At first glance it didnt look like there was a setting for it, but I didnt look very hard. _________________ Xfire/Steam = breadtruck * Xbox = I BreadtrucK I * PSN = I-BreadtrucK-I

If you go into MyDocuments there is a BFBC2 Beta Folder, in it is .ini's in one there is a bloom option.
So far I'm not digging the game, i have sticky keys like problems when moving left or right, not being able to go prone fucks with me as well. But that is due to it being glitched, if it wasn't glitched I probably would like it more. I seen it was updated on steam yet again today havn't checked it out after that fact so I couldn't tell u if anything was fixed.

Yeah, I found that a little while before you actually posted tbh. Now to find the setting that takes the blur out of the scope, lol
Well see what happens. If it doesnt get cleaned up put in a support ticket to Steam asking for a refund. As long as it is before the release date, you should be safe. _________________ Xfire/Steam = breadtruck * Xbox = I BreadtrucK I * PSN = I-BreadtrucK-I

I assume it will get cleaned up, DICE wants to get all the people who are pissed off at IW, and they got a lot of them already if they don't fix the shit thats broken the people will just go elsewhere.

Yeah, the beta is pretty unforgiving it seems. My 939 dual core shows her age in this.
Im hoping the optimizations in the full game help a bit, but I wont lie, Im even a bit worried about it. As more news develops Ill decide if I keep the PC preorder.
The 360 demo plays fantastic though. I kick ass there haha. _________________ Xfire/Steam = breadtruck * Xbox = I BreadtrucK I * PSN = I-BreadtrucK-I

The full game is night and day better than the beta. I dont get any stutter or slowdown like I had. My old rig can play the game well. Granted, I am running it at low settings, but I had to do that for BF2 on my old PC until I built this computer... BF seems to be what makes me upgrade. Even with the settings on low in the beta, it wasnt very playable. So Im pretty pleased with it now.
But Im running a 939 2.4 ghz dual core opteron (below minimum cpu), 3 gig ram, and a 9800gt 512mb. Just in case anyone was still on the fence and wondering about performance. _________________ Xfire/Steam = breadtruck * Xbox = I BreadtrucK I * PSN = I-BreadtrucK-I

Newegg has the pc limited edition version on sale today for 44.99 w/free shipping. I'm probably going to pick it up. Looks very interesting and since I'm not playing anything right now (because MW2 sucks ass), why not try and get into something else. _________________
